Our Story

Amandia Scotti founded Ballet through Borders in the spring of 2023. Amandia is a high school student who has been dancing for 13 years, having trained at both June Taylor's School of Dance and Northwest Dance Theatre in Oregon, USA.

Amandia's mother was born and raised in small countryside towns in South Africa. After hearing her mother's stories about life in Africa and her experience with ballet in various small towns, Amandia decided that it was time to share her great opportunities of ballet in the USA, with girls in less fortunate communities in South Africa.

The mission of Ballet through Borders is to empower girls in less fortunate communities, such as the one her mother grew up in, to experience the beauty and artistry of ballet and to provide them with the same incredible opportunities that Amandia has in the United States of America.

Dance has been such an important part of Amandia's life and has taught her so many life skills, and she now wants to share her knowledge and inspire a new generation of young ballerinas.
